Tennessee Quarterly Workforce Report Q1 2016

Following a slump in Q4 2015, online ads for advanced manufacturing jobs related to lightweighting in Tennessee bounced back in Q1 2016. The 11,077 ads during the first quarter of 2016 represented a 4% increase over the 10,700 ads during Q4 2015 and a 41% jump in employer demand compared to Q1 2015. Meanwhile, employment in the 140 occupations used in this analysis continues to grow since a recession low of 343,000 workers in 2010. The nearly 408,000 Tennesseans employed in advanced manufacturing jobs in 2015 marked the fifth consecutive year of employment growth.
