Kentucky Quarterly Workforce Report Q1 2016

Online job postings in Q1 2016 for occupations related to lightweighting were 38% higher than in Q1 2015 (5,641) in Kentucky. Postings increased 9% to 7,764 during Q1 2016, compared to 7,118 during Q4 2015. Increased employer demand for these workers has also driven employment growth in these occupations. 2015 marked the sixth consecutive year of employment growth for lightweighting-related jobs in Kentucky since the depths of the Great Recession in 2009. In 2009, only 230,675 Kentucky workers were employed in lightweighting-related advanced manufacturing jobs, while in 2015, employment reached nearly 275,000.
