LIFT Adds Two Manufacturing Industry Experts to Institute Team

The new leaders will complement the institute’s ongoing Department of Defense work by engaging deeper into the manufacturing industrial base.

DETROIT – LIFT, the Detroit-based national manufacturing innovation institute, today announced it has added two manufacturing industry experts to its team.

LIFT announced it has hired Sean Conway as Senior Vice President of Technology and Christine Longroy as Director of Industry Engagement. Both are located at LIFT’s Detroit headquarters.

Conway brings three decades of experience in engineering, marketing, business development and voice-of-the-

customer experience to LIFT, having worked most recently as Director of Marketing & Engineering at American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc.

He will work to identify Department of Defense customer needs and matches them with LIFT’s technology and talent development capabilities to coordinate technology program and talent training activities within the institute across its ecosystem.

Longroy comes to LIFT from SME, where she spent 11 years leading major initiatives, including customer engagement and business growth. In her role at LIFT, Longroy will drive and develop relationships with potential new members and other industrial organizations by engaging with them in the Detroit headquarters and at key industry events across the nation. She will also work closely with LIFT’s existing membership to support their efforts.

“We continue to seek out the best of the best to support our customers at the Department of Defense and across the U.S. manufacturing industry, and Sean and Christine are absolutely two of the best,” said Nigel Francis. “We are proud to have them join our already top-notch LIFT team to help us Drive American Manufacturing Into the Future.”
