Building Tomorrow’s Innovators: LIFT Empowers Students on Their Journey to the World Robotics Championship

On April 12, 2025, LIFT proudly hosted the Caribbean Robotics Academy at our facility in Caguas, Puerto Rico, for a friendly robotics tournament as students gear up for the World Robotics competition.

The Caribbean Robotics Academy, providing hands-on, robotics-based learning experiences to ignite a passion for science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM), brought together six robotics teams composed of students from local elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as university students. Each team recently won national robotics tournaments in Puerto Rico which qualified them for the upcoming world championships and competed at this friendly tournament at LIFT for practice prior to the world competition in May.

To prepare for the VEX Robotics World Championship to be held in Dallas, Texas in May, these students used VEX Robotics V5 and IQ robots to sharpen their skills. VEX Robotics provides educational robots that span all levels of education with affordable and scalable solutions, making creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving accessible. The 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship is presented by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation, whose mission is to provide every educator with competition, education, and workforce readiness programs to increase student engagement in STEAM.

While at LIFT, this group of students also became the first to experience the new LIFT Learning Lab at our Puerto Rico facility. The Learning Lab is equipped with hands-on training equipment, provided by LIFT partners at Amatrol and Hexagon, to inspire students to pursue careers in advanced manufacturing and fill the critical need for talent in the defense industrial base.

With partners such as the Caribbean Robotics Academy, VEX Robotics, and REC Foundation, LIFT continues to further our mission of driving American advanced manufacturing into the future through technology and talent development. Thank you for joining LIFT to prepare and best of luck to these teams in the World Robotics Competition!
