Online Webinar:

Best Practices In Construction Of Welding-Induced Distortions In Lightweight Metallic Structures – Thursday, January 10,  2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Pingsha Dong from the University of Michigan will lead this webinar discussing some of the major challenges associated with construction of lightweight structures faced by automotive, aerospace, and shipbuilding industries. He will then share basic principles in distortion control, ranging from joint design/placement, fixturing, and assembly sequencing.

Real-world examples from various industries will be used to illustrate how these principles can be applied for achieving effective distortion control, and recent developments in computational modeling procedures will be highlighted for achieving a better understanding of complex distortion phenomena associated with next generation lightweight structures involving multi-materials.
