LIFT, Manufacturing USA Go to Washington, D.C.

LIFT was well represented at the recent Manufacturing USA Congressional Briefing and Expo entitled  Manufacturing USA®: Securing U.S. Global Leadership in Advanced Manufacturing.

The briefing opened with remarks from Michigan Lt. Gov. Brian Calley about the impact LIFT is having on the Detroit area and the state of Michigan. That was followed by Emily DeRocco, LIFT’s vice president of education and workforce development, moderating a panel focused on the future of the manufacturing workforce which featured LIFT partner and CEO of the Ohio Manufacturers Association Eric Burkland.

After the briefing, attendees were invited to join the Manufacturing USA Expo during which each institute highlighted some of their technology successes. LIFT highlighted its recent project with Lifeline  Firehose, in which air can be delivered to firefighters through the same hose that delivers water to a fire.
