LIFT Members Answering the Call.. From the Desk of Nigel Francis, LIFT CEO & Executive Director

First, I hope you, your families and your colleagues are safe and healthy during the current COVID-19 pandemic. As parts of the country begin to re-open, we hope you and yours still act with caution to continue flattening the curve and ending this health crisis.

Like other businesses, our team at LIFT has been working remotely for many weeks and I am happy to report that our team has remained healthy throughout.

We have learned some important lessons during this pandemic. One of the most key lessons is that the manufacturing sector in this country is as important as ever and that re-shoring has great potential to reduce supply chain risk and complexity. We need to ensure the manufacturing industrial base is located here in this country and that is healthy and robust so we can produce the products we need when we need them, without over reliance on overseas providers.

Our members have seen and understood our mission and the critical role we together play in advancing American manufacturing forward. We have been blessed to have so many members not only renew their memberships with our institute, but we have also seen a good number of new members join our ecosystem even during these difficult times.

This is a pivotal time for our nation, our economy and therefore our national security. We remain committed to Driving American Manufacturing into The Future through technology and talent development – a goal which is more important now than it ever has been.
