Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME)

Integrated Computational Materials Engineering has great promise in creating computer “super models” that combine a much wider array of materials information than were previously possible. Using these computer models will speed up the development of manufacturing innovations.

  • Generate many more manufacturing design iterations at lower cost
  • Reduce costly production of prototypes used in tests
  • Increase the speed of taking new designs into production
  • Improve the ability to target where investments might pay off
  • Optimize weight reduction components
